I wrote an essay “The Shell Crisis: A Lesson from the First World War” on the Shell Crisis of 1915, which was published in the December 2024 Issue of the U.S. Naval Institute’s Naval History Magazine. The essay also won second place in the 2024 U.S. Navy Chief of Naval Operation’s Historical Essay Contest. To read the article, visit:

I also had an article published for the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima which ran in Naval History Magazine in February 2025 titled “Iwo Jima: A Tale of Two Carriers”. The article compares two aircraft carriers: the USS Saratoga (CV-3) and the USS Bismarck Sea (CVE-95) which were struck by multiple kamikazes on 21 February 1945 and includes the personal story of my grandfather who was onboard the Saratoga at that time.
